About Mistopolia
Mistopolia is a free, interactive tool for comparing cities in Poland. We've brought together data on rent, salaries, infrastructure, air quality, and transport — so you can find the city that's right for you, based on what actually matters to you.
Why we exist
Choosing where to live is a big decision. The differences between Polish cities can be dramatic: rent in Warsaw is twice as high as in Łódź, and Kraków's air quality is now among the best in the country — despite having the opposite reputation just a few years ago. Without up-to-date data, making an informed choice is genuinely difficult.
Mistopolia started from a simple idea: bring everything together in one place, show real numbers, and let people compare cities on their own terms — not someone else's.
Where our data comes from
We rely on open and official sources:
- Rental marketestimates based on rental market analysis with AI
- GUSStatistics Poland — salaries and unemployment
- GIOŚChief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection — air quality, PM2.5
- RSPOSchool and Educational Facility Register — schools and kindergartens
- OpenStreetMap / Overpass APIhospitals, transport, shops, pharmacies
Data is updated regularly. We monitor changes in official registries and keep indicators current.
The role of AI
Mistopolia uses AI to collect, process, and analyse data. This allows us to automatically track updates in official registries, analyse large volumes of information, and respond faster to changes — for example when new GUS salary data is published or air quality readings are updated.
We're growing 🌱
Mistopolia is a young project and we're always moving forward. We regularly add new cities, refine data, and improve our algorithms. For some smaller cities, certain indicators may be missing — that's not an error, it just means the data hasn't been collected yet. We're working on it and appreciate your patience.
If you spot an inaccuracy or want to suggest a new feature — we'd genuinely love to hear from you. Your feedback matters.
